Celebrating RNTC alumna Ejiro Umukoro

Ejiro Umukoro, know also as Lady E, attended our Digital Content Creation course in October of 2023.  After she won the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) ChangeMaker Award, we called her and extended our congratulations. Here is what she shared with us. 

"Being honored by the United States Agency for Global Media with the USAGM ChangeMaker Award was incredibly humbling. It resonated deeply within me, evoking emotions of gratitude and bittersweet joy, mingled with tears, as I reflect on the extensive journey I've undertaken. Emerging from a background where practicing my current role in media and journalism was once forbidden, this recognition has been profoundly affirming.

My passion has always been about making an impact, transforming lives, and guiding others through training and mentoring. The culmination of these efforts reflects a journey marked by significant personal costs and ongoing sacrifices.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the invaluable learning experience I received during the training in the Netherlands in October 2023. The humanity displayed by Hennah Draaibaar, coupled with her exceptional training skills, and Issa Shaker's empathetic listening and technical expertise, which I hope to further enhance with additional training, hopefully on another RNTC training, left an indelible mark on me. As someone passionate about training, I aspire to someday become an RNTC Trainer."
