In just the last few years, podcasts have been fast to gain popularity. One of the biggest reasons has been the shift to mobile; consumers are moving away from desktops and using mobile devices more often. As streaming services have become more widespread and popular, podcasts are now easy to access and convenient to share even when we’re on the go. Moreover, podcasts offer niche perspectives and amplifies voices from marginalized communities to empower their efforts to influence the mainstream. According to Forbes,  advertisment spend on traditional radio is in freefall, podcasts are expected to hit $534 million in advertising spend by 2020, globally.

Reach your audience with Podcasting offers you the tools and techniques you need to produce powerful informative podcasts on any topic. This 5-day combination of modules will give you the skills to create strong narratives, find the right media formats to convey them, and capture your audiences. You will practice identifying and mapping target audiences and persuading them. You will feel up to speed with the latest insights into modern-day journalism. You will put the theory into practice with real examples and try the techniques out for yourself.

You will learn how to use basic technical equipment that is easy to source, set up your own studio anywhere and share your content with the world. The course will provide examples of great podcasts to inspire and challenge you. And finally we discuss how to make money from your podcasts and how to market them.

This is a 5-day course.

This course takes place at the RNTC training centre and studios in Hilversum, which is about 20 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central Station.

  • By the end of the course, you will understand the basic techniques of creating high quality podcasts including recording, editing and uploading them to a streaming site.
  • This course helps you master the techniques of storytelling and targeting, and gives you the tools to produce stories that have major and measurable impact.
  • You will learn by doing, trying out various media formats and combining them to produce stories which will engage your audiences much more personally.
  • You will learn monetization and marketing models on how to make money with podcasts.
